User Training - Part 5: Campaign Tracking and ROI Report

Now that you’ve created a campaign in any integrated Marketing Automation system (i.e. Strum, Prisma, Braze, Hubspot) you’ll now be able to track campaign costs and review your ROI on campaigns.

*For Prisma campaign users, make sure:

  • Conversion is set to “On”
  • Don’t archive the campaign

Campaign List

Head to your Campaign List - found within the Marketing Chapter - by clicking the Hamburger Menu (three lines) in the upper left corner and selecting Marketing>Campaign List

This is where you’ll see a full list of all of your campaigns. When you click on the campaign, you’ll get a detailed ROI report. More on that in a minute.

Campaign Cost Manager

In order to get an accurate ROI report, you’ll want to create your campaign cost values so that you’ll be able to edit those for each of your campaigns.

To add a new cost type, or edit an existing cost type, navigate to the Marketing>Cost Manager from the hamburger menu on the top left. From there, add/edit your cost type by selecting a Cost Category, the Sub Category and the Cost like Agency or SMS costs.

Campaign Tracking Settings

Once you’ve created your costs in the Campaign Cost Manager, now you can head back to your Campaign List and edit your Campaign Tracking settings.

Check out our step-by-step guide to edit your Campaign Tracking settings

Here’s some things to consider when you’re editing those settings:

  • Definition
    • Campaign Run Start Date should be the date of the earliest communication for the campaign
    • Campaign Run End Date should be the last date that campaign was valid or ran.
  • Tracking
    • Influence Period marks the earliest and latest date considered for tracking and attributing a new product to the campaign audience.
      • Fixed Period is a tracking period that has a specific date range
      • Evergreen is a tracking period type that is a number of days/months/years from the specific customer's first communication date for the campaign. This tracking period type is useful for ongoing campaigns when audience members receive the communication on different dates.
    • Tracking Criteria is specifying what Product/Product Group/Service Group is considered a direct sale for the campaign. Users can also select the non-product option if the campaign wasn't specifically targeting a specific product type.

ROI Report

You can view the ROI report for your campaigns by clicking the Campaign Name within your Campaign List.

The report will show you important information like the Direct Sales associated with your campaign as well as ROI and Related Product Sales to give you a good idea of how your campaign is performing.
